Over 100,000 Flee Al Fasher Since Late October

Raasedoon

Since late October, more than 100,000 people have fled the city of Al Fasher, with displacement figures continuing to rise amid the escalating conflict. A significant number of those fleeing are children, many of whom arrive in Tawila exhausted, separated from their families, and carrying traumatic stories of what they have witnessed and endured.

According to UNICEF, children reaching displacement sites are in urgent need of protection, medical care, nutrition, and emotional support. Many are physically exhausted, malnourished, and deeply distressed, while others are still searching for missing family members.

UNICEF teams are currently on the ground in Tawila and surrounding areas, delivering life-saving assistance, including clean water, healthcare services, sanitation facilities, and psychosocial support for children and families affected by the violence.

Humanitarian agencies warn that without increased access and support, the situation could rapidly deteriorate, leaving thousands of vulnerable children at even greater risk.
