Within the framework of the Ministry of Energy’s responsibility to secure the country’s petroleum supplies and ensure the stable availability of fuel in the markets, and with the aim of avoiding any potential supply shortages, the Ministry announces that it has decided to proceed with the implementation of the fuel import program in cooperation with private sector companies that have successfully reached a consensus and organized themselves into joint consortia.
Thirty (30) private sector companies have successfully completed the process of organization and coordination among themselves, forming five (5) groups. These groups will be included in the import schedule for the upcoming period‘s import windows, in accordance with the technical and regulatory arrangements approved by the Ministry.
As for the nine (9) companies that have not yet been able to complete the coordination and consortium process, they will be integrated into the program as soon as they finalize their cooperation and organization procedures within a clear legal framework that ensures proper execution and commitment to the program.
At the same time, the Ministry emphasizes that public sector companies will continue to perform their roles as planned in meeting the market‘s needs for petroleum products. They will also intervene to cover any potential supply gaps whenever necessary, ensuring the continuous and stable availability of fuel throughout the country.
The Ministry affirms that these measures are taken in light of current developments and variables in global energy markets, which necessitate taking the required measures to secure the country’s fuel supplies during the coming period.
The Ministry of Energy reassures citizens that petroleum supplies are secured and that work is underway in coordination with all partners to ensure the continued, normal, and regular flow of fuel.
