Statement
Four people, including a child, were killed in the Al-Daraja neighborhood of the city of El Fasher by individuals affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), amid dire humanitarian conditions the city has been experiencing since last October, with humanitarian aid barred from entering and women and children held under coercive confinement.
The network affirms that the continuation of such violations poses a direct threat to the lives of civilians and violates all international laws that ensure the protection of civilians. It called for opening safe corridors to evacuate thousands of civilians who are being forcibly held without access to services, in the midst of a total communication blackout and the absence of essential services.
The network urges the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately to rescue the civilians being held in the city, and to pressure militia leaders who have been detaining civilians in exchange for ransom for their release from the city, in addition to the separation of families from one another.
