The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) said new waves of people fleeing Kordofan and Darfur are arriving daily in Sudan’s White Nile State, deepening the country’s humanitarian crisis.
In a brief statement, UNHCR reported that more than 17,000 people have arrived with nothing after weeks of walking, describing severe suffering and atrocities that no one should be forced to endure.
The agency stressed that the newly arrived displaced people urgently need humanitarian support and emphasized that lasting relief depends on the restoration of peace.
