The Minister of Energy, Eng. Moatasem Ibrahim Ahmed, accompanied by Eng. Al-Sadiq Mahmoud Jaber, member of the Undersecretary’s Office Steering Committee, conducted a field inspection of the petroleum product distribution and monitoring systems at the General Directorate of Supplies.
During the visit, the Minister reviewed the procedures for discharging tankers, fuel truck loading, and tracking shipments until they reach service stations. He emphasized rigorous monitoring of withdrawals and stock levels at stations, directing that Ministry regulations be strictly enforced to ensure safety standards and consistent service delivery.
“The Ministry‘s responsibility is to tightly control and monitor distribution to ensure a stable supply that meets the needs of all sectors,“ the Minister stated, praising the staff for their efforts in managing fuel flow, which he described as a matter of national sovereignty.
Taj Al-Arifin, Director General of Petroleum Supplies, confirmed that a joint task force has been formed in coordination with state authorities and the General Directorate of Petroleum Facilities. This team is tasked with inspecting service stations to ensure compliance with technical specifications. He further announced that the Shipping and Follow-up Procedures Center has officially commenced operations from within Khartoum State.
Salih Mohammed Ahmed, Supervisor of Electronic Loading and Unloading Centers, provided an overview of the digital monitoring mechanism. He explained that the system enables real-time tracking of fuel movement from discharge to delivery and allows for the monitoring of consumption rates and inventory levels. This technology assists in identifying abnormal consumption patterns, enabling immediate intervention in coordination with state petroleum directorates through a unified shipping window.
