President Xi Jinping sent a message to the UN event marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, stressing that the Palestinian cause is central to the Middle East conflict and a test of global justice and governance.
He urged the international community to build consensus, act decisively to secure a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, and prevent a return to violence. Xi emphasized that reconstruction and governance in Gaza must follow the principle of “Palestinians governing Palestine,” with full respect for the will of the Palestinian people and the concerns of regional countries.
He called for urgent action to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and reaffirmed that the two-state solution remains the only path to a lasting political settlement.
Xi said the Palestinian issue reflects the effectiveness of the global governance system, urging nations to address its root causes, correct historical injustices, and uphold fairness and justice.
He reiterated that China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, firmly supports the Palestinian people’s legitimate national rights and will continue working for a just, comprehensive, and durable peace.
